LIVING GOSPEL CHURCH, WINNIPEG, MANITOBA, CANAD

HOME

The Living Gospel Church (LGC) would like to welcome you to its website. The Living Gospel is a Bible-based and Spirit led church with a ministry vision of serving God by empowering believers with knowledge of God’s word, and sharing God’s word with those who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We extend our invitation to you and your family to visit our church and to share in praise and worship with us.

LGC was established in 1991 and we moved to our current location (520 William Avenue ) in early 2000. Many of our church members are Ethiopian and Eritrean origin. However, our church membership is open to anyone who wishes to join the LGC community. Our Sunday church services are held at 10:00 am and 6:00 pm. Other services that are offered by LGC to its members and the local community are: Youth Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Children’s Ministry, and Outreach Ministry

LGC has a partnership with Manitoba Interfaith Immigration Council (MIIC) in the area of family linked refugee sponsorship. Using this partnership, LGC have been actively sponsoring refugees and assist refugees to settle and stay in our community. Some of these refugees come from very dangerous parts of the world and we sponsor and bring them over to provide them with a new start in life in a society where opportunities are endless.  LGC also provides a venue for the newly arriving immigrants/refugees to gather with other established members of our community. This mentoring process is a vital component of the supportive services provided by LGC to assist new arrivals.

With the influx new immigrants to Winnipeg, the need for more affordable housing is a necessity.  Currently LGC is  build an affordable Housing and Community Centre open to all, including but not limited to, church members, area residents and the general public. The facility is being  built on a vacant land LGC owns at 523 William Avenue.  To assist in the successful outcome of the new development, we at LGC are not only committing our time and expertise but also our funds. We are successful at fundraising a substantial sum of money from the community and our membership. When the construction of the building is completed in 2013, it will enable us to carry on community works to help more people, regardless of faith or beliefs, in a positive effective manner.
